The findings of this study reveal that if unabated, India’s HFC emissions will increase to 500 million tonne CO2 equivalent in 2050. If the Indian amendment proposal is accepted, the study concludes that 4.2 gigatonnes CO2 equivalent of HFC emissions could be avoided between 2010 and 2050, or up to 64% of projected emissions if the use of HFCs continues unabated until 2050.
