Making the Transition to a Smarter Grid

Power generation from renewable sources will need to increase significantly for India to meet its ambitious electrification goals as well as the goals committed to under the Paris Agreement. There is growing evidence from many countries that high levels of renewable energy penetration into the grid is technically and economically feasible. But this will require a more effective approach to grid management, one that utilizes smart grids as well as related technologies. Smart grids, therefore, can play a crucial role in India's transition to a sustainable energy future.
