The Government of India notified FAME II in April 2019. Approximately 35% of the total amount, i.e, INR 3,545 crores has been allocated towards providing electric bus (e-bus) incentives in order to accelerate deployment efforts. With this increased emphasis on electrification of public transport (e-buses), it is important that we strategically plan the subsidies and deployment efforts to maximise results.

The report discusses fiscal incentives to scale up adoption of electric buses and provides a review of the previous e-bus procurement practices in India.
